The owner wanted to repurpose the footprint of a decrepit garage into a usable ceramic studio. The garage was located on the back of a single family house in Columbia City, Seattle.

Large openings to the lush yard were paramount to the design. The owner decided on large overhangs and a shed roof. This is to maximize protection from the rain and to give an inviting gesture to the DADU across the patio. The interior was designed with minimal textures: a limewash texture on the walls, a concrete floor and exposed wood beams and ceiling.
